Vatican, Dec. 22 (CWNews.com) - The first encyclical of Pope Benedict XVI will be made public after the feast of the Epiphany, according to the Italian Apcom news agency.
The Italian media report said that the encyclical will be a 40-page letter, which Pope Benedict will formally sign on Christmas Day. (Previous reports had suggested that the Pope signed the document on December 8: the feast of the Immaculate Conception and the 40th anniversary of the closing of Vatican II.) The Apcom agency did not specify exactly when the encyclical would be made public, other than to say that it would be soon after the January 6 obserance of the Epiphany.
