This is something you won't see often but I would like to make a review about this movie. The published outline for the movie is below.
A young girl dies under the care of her parish priest. While attending college, Emily believed she became possessed. After medical care ceases to work, she turned to her faith. In the care of her priest she dies and he goes on trial for her death. He is represented by a career-minded and driven lawyer who does not believe in God. Thus is the story of Emily Rose, told by those in the trial and the priest who watched her through her possession.
This Movie is based on a true story.
Anneliese Michel was born September 21st, 1952 (Bio) in Leiblfing, Bavaria, Germany. She is the actual subject of this movie . Click on the bio for a detailed account of her life.
As a horror movie, this doesn’t cut it. The so call “fright effects” are poorly done, but the character development is first rate. And the ending:
Well the ending is what makes it worth while. You would not expect such an ending from a Hollywood movie in this day and time. But there it is. It is the ending that makes the 122 minutes of viewing worthwhile. I will not spoil the ending for you but if you really wish to know what it is, without viewing the movie, I am putting it in the comments.

What is so very special about the ending is that the Emily Rose Character is confronted by an apparition of the Blessed Mother who tell her that she can either have the demons driven out or she can endure this trial and be an inspiration for all. Emily choose to endure the trial.
